Ranking Brian Kelly’s 100 Notre Dame Wins: 40-31
This group of ten features games that continue to grow in terms of importance and offer a few great “what-if’s” in regards to Brian Kelly’s tenure at Notre Dame.
40. Navy 2019: 52-20 win would end up being Notre Dame’s only win over a team to appear in the AP Top 25 to end the 2019 season.
39. Iowa State 2019: 33-9 victory in the Camping World Bowl put a bow on the 2019 season that was the third straight of ten or more wins for Kelly and Notre Dame.
38. Georgia Tech 2015: 30-22 win over No. 14 Yellow Jackets was complete dominance by the Irish who led 30-7 with under a minute to play before a pair of garbage time touchdowns narrowed the final margin.
37. Wake Forest 2018: 56-27 road victory wasn’t over a great team but marked the change at quarterback as Ian Book rushed for three scores and threw for two more in his first game as Notre Dame’s full-time starting quarterback.
36. Boston College 2020: 45-31 road victory a week after knocking off No. 1 Clemson came against the second best team Notre Dame has played to date in 2020.
35. 2019 Virginia: 35-20 win over No. 18 Cavaliers came behind eight sacks by the Notre Dame defense, including three from Julian Okwara.
34. 2015 Virginia: 34-27 win came after DeShone Kizer stepped in for an injured Malik Zaire and found Kyle Fuller for the go-ahead score with just 12 seconds to play. What happens in 2015 if the Irish don’t escape Charlottesville with that win?
33. Pitt 2018: 19-14 win came as Ian Book found Miles Boykin for the go-ahead score with just over five minutes to play as the Irish escaped disaster and moved to 7-0.
32. Miami (FL) 2016: 30-27 might not seem that impressive but what happens with Brian Kelly if he drops that game and Notre Dame finishes the year 3-9? Is he still the head coach?
31. Purdue 2010: 23-12 win was the first for Kelly at Notre Dame as Armando Allen rushed for over 90 yards and a score.
Next Up: 30-21…
