Ranking Brian Kelly’s 100 Notre Dame Wins: 70-61
Slowly but surely the list is getting better as we’re seeing more Power Five schools and more games the average fan probably has a certain memory of at least. In this section you’ll start to see wins over Navy show up and as nice as they are to have against a usually solid team, they’re hardly ever seen as impressive by anyone not associated with Notre Dame.
70. Navy 2018: 44-22 victory came after a dominating first half in San Diego as the Irish improved to 8-0 with this win over a rare down Navy team.
69. Florida State 2020: 42-26 win was over a name brand that hasn’t been the same in recent years but any time you run for 353 yards against a Power Five program it’s worth noting.
68. Boston College 2011: A 16-14 hold on for dear life win that got the once 0-2 Irish to 8-3 as a Jonas Gray touchdown on the opening possession was Notre Dame’s only trip to the end zone that afternoon.
67. Pitt 2010: 23-17 win came by way of Dayne Crist who threw for one touchdown and ran for another as the slow-starting Irish got back to .500 at 3-3.
66. Navy 2013: 38-34 victory came after Notre Dame stopped Navy on fourth down at the Irish 31 with just over a minute to play.
65. Purdue 2011: 38-10 beat down of Purdue got the Irish to 3-2 as Tommy Rees threw three touchdown passes and Notre Dame played to it’s potential that so many were high on entering the season.
64. Navy 2014: 49-39 victory came after Navy fought back from down 28-7 to make things way too interesting as Everett Golson threw and ran for three touchdowns each.
63. Pitt 2011: 15-12 in an old fashioned slugfest that saw Jonas Gray rush for a 79 yard touchdown that got the Irish on the board in the second quarter.
62. Vandy 2018: 22-17 win came on the rare day that punter Tyler Newsome was the hero of the day as his leg helped move the Irish to 3-0 in what would be Brandon Wimbush’s final game as the regular starting quarterback.
61. Navy 2015: 41-24 win came on the back of CJ Prosise who ran for 129 yards and three scores to hand Navy their first loss of 2015.
