As good as [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] has been during the regular season, they haven’t been quite as good when facing top-end talent in BCS or New Year’s Six games.
In a recent post by Fox Sports College Football’s twitter, the Irish were included in a group Power Five of schools that have not won a BCS or New Year’s Six bowl game since the 2007 season.
For some of the schools, the opportunity to compete in these games has missed them, but for Notre Dame that isn’t the case. Since that time frame the Irish have had 7 chances in big time bowl games, but have come up short every single time.

This is something that head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] has been tasked with changing, but didn’t get the opportunity during his first full season. He did as the coach in 2022 against Oklahoma State, and for half of the game, it looked like the streak would end.
Unfortunately, the Cowboys stormed back and narrowly defeated the Irish 37-35 and the streak continued. Hopefully Notre Dame has a chance this coming bowl season to end this bad streak.
