For a while, Notre Dame football was cruising on the recruiting trail, but recently things have not gone the Irish’s way.
On Saturday afternoon, one of their biggest targets, Nevada wide receiver [autotag]Derek Meadows[/autotag], made his decision and it didn’t go Notre Dame’s way. The 6-foot, 5-inch and 200-pound prospect committed to LSU, another loss for the Irish at the position.
Meadows would have been a huge get for Notre Dame, as he’s ranked as the nation’s No. 68 overall player according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. It’s been a rough cycle for wide receivers coach Mike Brown, as he’s missed on multiple prospects.

Although the Irish do have Jerome Bettis Jr. and Elijah Burress, the search for a third wide receiver will continue with Meadows picking the Tigers.
