Notre Dame football loses another player to the transfer portal

Not a huge loss, but still significant

While we all knew what Notre Dame football cornerback Jaden Mickey’s intentions were to enter the transfer portal, which he did today.

What we didn’t know about was what defensive [autotag]Tyson Ford[/autotag] has been pondering. The third-year player had left the program during the spring, as he was trying to decide what he wanted to do.

Well, he made his decision on Tuesday, as the 6-foot, 5-inch and 260-pounder will also enter the transfer portal. As a prospect Ford was the nation’s No. 120 overall player according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Ford signing with the Irish was clearly a huge recruiting win, but unfortunately never lived up to the hype. He registered just one tackle during his career in South Bend, as he will look for a new home in the coming months.

It’s not a huge loss for Notre Dame, as his departure from the program earlier this year already put some of the writing on the wall.

We wish Tyson the best as searches for his next team.
