He might not have gone down as the best to ever quarterback Notre Dame but no quarterback ever won more games as a starter in blue and gold than Ian Book.
The former Notre Dame signal caller turns 26 on Saturday. Book is currently signed to a guaranteed futures contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Book was originally committed to Washington State before getting flipped by the Fighting Irish back in 2016 recruiting class. Book made his first start for an injured Brandon Wimbush in 2017 at North Carolina before taking over as the full-time starter in the fifth game of the 2018 season.
From there Book helped guide Notre Dame to their only two College Football Playoff appearances to date as they went 12-0 in the 2018 regular season and 10-0 in the 2020 regular season before dropping the ACC Championship and Rose Bowl games.
Along the way his heroics helped Notre Dame comeback to beat LSU on a miracle pass and catch, upset No. 1 Clemson, and run to victory with a badly injured mid-section at Northwestern along with a whole lot more.
Cheers to Ian! Celebrate by checking out some of the best photos of him from his time at Notre Dame below:
