Notre Dame and LSU have been linked together not just because they’ve met in four bowl games in the past quarter-century but because their recruiting battles have met head-on a good amount recently.

This week we’ve paid a lot of attention to running back Logan Diggs who has been a long-time Notre Dame commitment, but he didn’t sign his letter of intent this week after getting an offer from LSU late in the recruiting process.

While it remains to be seen whether or not Notre Dame ultimately lands Diggs, the Irish did flip a previous LSU commitment into signing his letter of intent with Notre Dame.

Safety Khari Gee actually signed his letter of intent on Wednesday but didn’t announce doing so until Friday.  Carter Karels of the South Bend Tribune has the details on how that all went down.

Gee comes from Woodward Academy in Georgia and is rated as a three-star prospect on 247Sports while Rivals gives him a four-star rating.

Gee checks in at 6-3, 190 pounds, and had been an LSU commitment since mid-May.

Gee brings Notre Dame’s class total to 24 while even more cavalry could be on the way soon.
