No. 13 Notre Dame wasted no time getting the 2023 college football season started, doing so quickly and easily against Navy on Saturday night in Dublin.
After Navy deferred to start the game, Notre Dame used a lot of junior running back [autotag]Audric Estime[/autotag] to move easily down field. Estime totaled 51-yards on the opening possession, capping it with a one-yard touchdown run.
After a couple of decent Navy runs to start their first possession, Notre Dame’s defense quickly tightened and got a fourth down stop. Navy would threaten to score just once more while it mattered, missing a 37-yard field goal in the second quarter.
Notre Dame starts the year 1-0 after an impressive 42-3 win that saw [autotag]Sam Hartman[/autotag] throw for 251-yards and four touchdowns in his Irish debut.
