A Kyren Williams lost fumble, a special teams blunder that led to another lost possession and a second punt return mistake nearly led to yet another Irish turnover early in this game.

It was an ugly start but as good teams do, Notre Dame rode the wave just fine as they settled nicely and despite the defense having a rough go at times, did hold Florida State to just nine points after the stunning 17 in the first frame.

At the end of the day it’s a win and 3-0 and with everything this team has dealt with in the last two weeks, it’s hard to be very upset with a showing that saw Notre Dame within two yards of covering over a three touchdown spread.
