The Notre Dame men’s basketball team doesn’t have quite the recruiting reach that the football team does, but that hasn’t stopped them from going after multiple national prospects.
Sometimes you don’t have to go far to find the next Irish hoops star, and that’s exactly what happened on Monday. Notre Dame offered Jeffersonville High School forward/center [autotag]Tre Singleton[/autotag].
The 6-foot, 8-inch and 215-pound big man is ranked as the country’s No. 219 overall prospect and 46th power forward according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He also holds previous offers from DePaul, Wake Forest, Northwestern and a host of other smaller schools.
After a great conversation with Coach Shrewsberry — I’m blessed to receive an offer from the University of Notre Dame! pic.twitter.com/eT0BTao8Lc

It was a big day for Singleton, as not only did the Irish offer, but over the last 24 hours he’s picked up scholarships from Clemson, Louisville, Wake Forest and Xavier. It’s looking like the competition will be tough for Notre Dame, but they do have proximity working in its favor.
