Northern Colorado transfer QB Shea Kuykendall to visit Washington

The Washington Huskies are hosting a potential third quarterback for an official visit.

The Washington Huskies and coach Jedd Fisch have one more scholarship reserved for a quarterback and Shea Kuykendall from the University of Northern Colorado just might be the one to get it. First reported by Dawgman.com’s Scott Eklund, the redshirt sophomore was scheduled to begin an official visit to Washington on Tuesday along with former Ole Miss wide receiver Zakhari Franklin.

The 6-foot-1 San Pedro, California native appeared in five games in 2023 for the Bears and made three starts, completing 52 of 81 passes for 454 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Kuykendall spent his high school years at Long Beach Polytechnic High School in California, which is known for producing over 60 NFL players, including wide receivers DeSean Jackson and JuJu Smith-Schuster, tight end Marcedes Lewis, defensive lineman Jurell Casey, and linebacker Willie McGinest.

Known as a pure pocket passer with a strong arm and a quick release, Kuykendall is the perfect third quarterback to pair with senior Will Rogers and freshman Demond Williams thanks to his brief starting experience.

He has also perfected the ability to place the ball anywhere on the field with very good timing and anticipation which would make him a promising prospect for quarterbacks coach Jimmie Dougherty.
