After hauling in four key players from the transfer portal over the last two weeks, Auburn head coach [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] mentioned that he would like to add another linebacker before the 2023 season begins.
He may be well on his way to making that dream a reality, as one of the top defensive players has recently paid a visit to campus.
[autotag]Larry Nixon[/autotag], the second-leading tackler for North Texas during the 2022 season, visited Auburn on Thursday and is expected to stay until Friday according to a report by Christian Clemente of Auburn Undercover.
Nixon made 104 stops last season for the Mean Green, which was second on the team behind KD Davis, who made 137. Nixon also ended the 2022 season with a sack.
According to Pro Football Focus, Nixon ended last season with a grade of 66.6, with pass rush being his strong suit with a team-leading grade of 78.0. He earned the grade by creating 21 quarterback pressures, with 15 of those going for hurries.
Auburn added to its linebacker depth last week by adding Appalachian State linebacker Jalen McLeod. McLeod made 40 stops last season with the Mountaineers, with six sacks.
