KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee men’s basketball team picked up a commitment from a North Carolina high school shooting guard Monday.
Kent Gilbert, a senior at D.H. Conley High School in Greenville, North Carolina, announced that he is headed to Knoxville to play for coach Rick Barnes and the Volunteers.
“Blessed to announce that I will be continuing my basketball career at the University of Tennessee,” the 6-foot-2, 170-pound shooting guard Tweeted. “Thank you to all my friends and family who helped me along the way. Go Vols.”

Tennessee finished the 2019-20 season with a 17-14 overall record and 9-9 in Southeastern Conference play.
