Noah Clowney confirms pre-draft visit with the Thunder

Alabama forward Noah Clowney confirmed he had a pre-draft visit with the Thunder, per @BasketballGuruD

The 2023 NBA draft lottery is officially over, as it confirmed the Oklahoma City Thunder will pick No. 12 in the first round of the draft.

It’s also draft combine week, which means all of the top prospects are gathered in Chicago, Ill. This means that most players will likely be asked who they’ve worked out and met with so far.

One of those players was Alabama forward Noah Clowney, who said he conducted a pre-draft visit with the Thunder, per BSO’s Daniel Bell.

The 18-year-old averaged 9.8 points on 48.6% shooting, 7.9 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.9 blocks in 36 games during his lone college season. He also shot 28.3% from 3 on 3.3 attempts.

Clowney is currently projected as a non-lottery first-round pick, which means the Thunder will likely either need to reach for him at No. 12 or trade back into the first round somehow if they were interested.

The 2023 NBA draft is scheduled to happen on Thursday, June 22. A full list of prospects who’ve met with the Thunder can be read here.
