It turns out that Zach Ertz — who has played all 123 of his NFL games for the Philadelphia Eagles up to this point after they drafted him in 2013 — was playing in his last game as an Eagle on Thursday night.
Per multiple reports, the Eagles dealt the veteran tight end to the Arizona Cardinals. It must be a mixed feeling for Ertz, who leaves behind the franchise that he won a Super Bowl with but who also joins an undefeated contender.
And because fans are asking: No, he can’t play for the Cardinals on Sunday, which would mean he’d suit up twice in one week for two different teams.
Sorry, those of you in fantasy football hoping. No double-points!
Here’s apparently the rule that covers this:
I believe this covers it. Ertz will not be playing Sunday, per the 2020 CBA, pg 204. If the Cardinals played Monday, maybe? But they don't and he won't. pic.twitter.com/i2Jy9taJyd

New Cardinals’ TE Zach Ertz is not eligible to play Sunday vs. the Browns after playing last night vs. the Bucs.

Because some are asking: Zach Ertz isn’t eligible to play Sunday for the Cardinals.
It would been a stretch for him to do so even if permitted, but he can make his Arizona debut in Week 7.
