No waiver claims for Cardinals; 1 player claimed by Lions

After getting six players off waivers following cutdown day last year, the Cardinals add nobody this year and lose one player to the Lions.

The waiver period following NFL roster cutdown day is complete. A year after the Arizona Cardinals were awarded six players via waiver claims, they added no players.

They had the fourth-highest waiver priority in the league behind the Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders and New England Patriots, so the Cardinals either did not place any claims on players or the players they wanted were all awarded to one of the teams ahead of them.

Carolina was awarded six players and New England received four. The Commanders were awarded nobody.

Only one Cardinals player did not make through waivers. That was linebacker Trevor Nowaske. He was claimed by the Detroit Lions. The Cardinals claimed Nowaske off waivers in late December after Detroit released him. He returns to play for head coach Dan Campbell.

With all other Cardinals cuts clearing waivers, they can put together their practice squad.
