No UNC basketball recruits named to Iverson Classic

The UNC basketball program wont be represented at the Iverson Classic in New Jersey this year.

As the UNC basketball program continues to navigate the final week of the 2022-23 college basketball season, the future of the program is in the hands of the 2023 and 2024 recruiting classes.

UNC will welcome in a two-man recruiting class for 2023 as Simeon Wilcher and Zayden High are both committed. Both players have elevated their games since committing to the program but neither appear to be receiving national recognition.

After no UNC commits were named to the McDonald’s All-American Game, the same is now said about the Allen Iverson Roundball Classic.

The annual all-star game released its roster to highlight the best high school basketball players in the country. The roster includes 10 five-star recruits headlined by five players each from Kentucky and Duke.

To see the full roster for the game can be found here. The Allen Iverson Roundball Classic will take place on April 29th in New Jersey.

Despite not having any representatives in all-star games, that’s not a bad thing for the Tar Heels 2023 class. Both Wilcher and High have shown flashes and should have the chance to make an impact right away next season for the program.
