Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. did not participate in the team’s mandatory minicamp this offseason due to a hip injury, and it isn’t clear what his timetable for return looks like.

Because the Colts aren’t required to give injury reports during the spring workouts, we have to go off of what the players say. According to Kevin Bowen of 1075 The Fan, Pittman Jr. didn’t commit to a public goal for when he expects to return from the injury.

Pittman wasn’t as committed to a public goal on Wednesday. He didn’t reveal any timetable when asked about his hope to be ready for the start of camp. Pittman said this hip ailment is something he played through last season.

This could be something to keep an eye on or it could be nothing. We simply don’t know what the timetable will look like so it’s most likely a waiting game until training camp arrives at the end of July.

Pittman Jr. is a vital piece of the offense, and he’s entering a crucial season considering it’s the final year of his rookie contract. He’ll be looking to lock up a contract extension, but it isn’t clear if those discussions have any legs at this point in the offseason.

Regardless, Pittman Jr.’s hip injury will be something to monitor if he isn’t ready by the time training camp arrives.
