The Brooklyn Nets will be without one of their top reserves for Wednesday’s game in Washington D.C. against the Wizards. Wilson Chandler has been ruled out due to personal reasons, though Kenny Atkinson told reporters in Washington that he does not expect the forward to be out long term.
On Tuesday, Rodions Kurucs was recalled from the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn’s G League affiliate. Given Chandler is out for the Nets’ game on Wednesday, Kurucs could receive a decent amount of minutes.
Additionally, Atkinson informed reporters in Washington that Brooklyn’s star point guard, Kyrie Irving, has yet to establish a surgery date, per Alex Schiffer of The Athletic.
Nets general manager Sean Marks ruled Irving out for the remainder of the 2019-20 season on February 20, right before Brooklyn’s first game after the All-Star break. Marks expressed Irving will receive arthroscopic surgery, but the point guard still had things he needed to look into.
