Despite some media fodder that teams could want Jalen Hurts to take on a new role in the NFL, no teams have requested that he perform any other drills outside of quarterback, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL.com.
Despite speculation, no NFL team requested Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts to perform combine drills at any position other than quarterback, sources tell me and @RapSheet. One to watch in tomorrow’s primetime throwing session.

In the past, teams have asked players to participate in drills outside their position.
Last week, Hurts’ trainer said he does not plan to workout at any position if anyone asks him to at the Scouting Combine.
“He wats to show people that he’s a quarterback” trainer Chip Smith said. “That’s the big thing. There is talk about other positions and that kind of stuff… He’s a great athlete. He played in two national championships. He’s got more film than any other quarterback out there… he’s a quarterback.”
Some have persisted that Hurts could and should become a Taysom Hill do-it-all type of offensive player. Hill will make plays as a wildcat quarterback, a fullback, a running back and a receiver. Hurts, though, shot down that notion once again on Tuesday.

Hurts won one national championship with Alabama before transferring to Oklahoma for his final season. He threw for 9,477 total yards and 80 touchdowns in his college career.
The Scouting Combine will wrap up on March 1.
