Even with a historic campaign from running back Jonathan Taylor, the Indianapolis Colts still weren’t represented in the NFLPA’s top-50 player sales for the 2021 season.
From March 1 through Nov. 30, the NFLPA tracked the merchandise sales for each player in the league. It is known as “the only verified rankings of all officially licensed NFL player products and merchandise.”
Not even Taylor with his league-leading 1,811 rushing yards and 20 touchdowns cracked the top-50 in player sales. Nor did linebacker Darius Leonard or defensive tackle DeForest Buckner.
The 2021 rookie class made up nearly a fifth of the top-50 merchandise sales with nine first-year players making the list. As for running backs, Taylor’s historic season wasn’t enough to crack the list despite seven other running backs finishing higher.
Among running backs, Ezekiel Elliott (No. 13) led the way followed by Nick Chub (No. 16), Josh Jacobs (No. 17), Derrick Henry (No. 20), Najee Harris (No. 23), Saquan Barkley (No. 29) and Christian McCaffrey (No. 38).
As expected, quarterbacks made up the majority of the list with 19 names entering the top-50 while eight of them made up the top-10. The entire group was led by Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes.
