No. 5 Tennessee defeated Arkansas, 6-1, Friday at Barksdale Stadium.
The Vols (17-5, 5-3 SEC) swept the two completed doubles matches, earning a doubles point for the 14th time this season.
Adam Walton and Pat Harper defeated Arkansas’ tandem of Nico Rousett and Alex Reco, 6-3. Tennessee’s Emile Hudd and Shunsuke Mitsui downed Melvin Manuel and Adrien Burdet, 6-4.
At No. 1 singles, Walton, the No. 21 player in the country, defeated Reco, 6-3, 6-2.
Mitsui won at No. 3 as he defeated Oscar Pinto Sansano, 6-2, 7-5. Angel Diaz prevailed at No. 4 as he downed Burdet, 6-4, 6-2.
Martim Prada and Conor Gannon also picked up wins at singles for the Vols against Arkansas (10-11, 1-7).
Prada defeated Manuel, 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-4), and Gannon won in straight sets, downing Aleksa Bucan, 6-0, 6-3.
