In Oklahoma’s week two matchup with SMU, the Sooners’ defense aided the SMU offense with three penalties on their lone touchdown drive. Otherwise, it was another fantastic performance for Ted Roof’s crew.
They’ve allowed just one touchdown in two games and have done a fantastic job of responding after allowing a chunk play.
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane doesn’t have a passing attack as good as SMU, which will minimize the threat through the air. The Sooners will have to be disciplined, though, as Kevin Wilson will utilize a solid rushing attack to help set up play action to take some shots against the Sooners.
Offensively, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Oklahoma Sooners take a similar approach to their game against SMU. The Sooners are the more talented team and may be able to get away with not opening up the playbook before Big 12 play begins next week.
Even with a conservative gameplan, the Sooners execute far better and get a few more explosive plays to leave nonconference play 3-0.
Oklahoma 45, Tulsa 6
