No. 16 Notre Dame Blasts Boston College: 5 Instant Thoughts

Hamilton went from a relative-unknown as a recruit as little as 14 or so months ago.  By the time he actually enrolled in school some outlets had him as Notre Dame’s highest ranked recruit in the class and his instant-impact isn’t going unnoticed.

Last week it was the Chase Claypool show as #83Nation put up four touchdowns on Navy and was clearly a mismatch nightmare for the Midshipmen all afternoon.  Saturday told a much different story in terms of even distribution.

For starters – of the 501 total yards Notre Dame had Saturday, 252 came on the ground while 249 were through the air.  It’s next to impossible to run 85 plays and have that equal of production.

Breaking down the final stats for the game – of the 252 rush yards Notre Dame accumulated four players were able to rush for 42 or more yards but none for more than the 66 Ian Book totaled.

In the passing game three different players ended with exactly seven receptions and one touchdown with Cole Kmet, Chris Finke and Chase Claypool all doing so.  Kmet led in terms of yards at 78 while Finke finished with 71 and Claypool 60.

Although drives weren’t finished early, the idea of “how the heck are they attacking us next?” was far too great for the Eagles to overcome and keep interesting.
