No. 16 Notre Dame Beats Stanford: 5 Quick Thoughts

The 2019 regular season comes to an end and 10-2 ends up the final record and along with it come some different feelings than we’d probably have expected had most of us been told 10 wins was happening back in August

Remember some of the old argument against bringing field turf to Notre Dame Stadium?  The thoughts that it wasn’t natural, was too “new school” or whatever you want to call it and simply just different than the way things were done forever was too much for some to handle.

Go watch that game today and tell me that field turf shouldn’t be on every college football playing surface in this country.

Stanford has a solid program even if they’re having a down year.  A regular in the Rose Bowl, a regular to contend for, if not win the Pac-12 and plenty of NFL talent getting turned out on an annual basis.

Yet when it rains that’s what you get.  The best tackler in the stadium on Saturday was actually the turf that made for a lot less flashy of game to watch.  Hopefully by the next Notre Dame plays out there in 2021 that stuff is gone and field turf is in.
