The Notre Dame offense and defense have each taken undeniable strides in the now ten years Brian Kelly has been head coach. Until really the second half of this year however you wouldn’t have said that about Notre Dame’s special teams units.
Today was yet another case in the second-half of this 2019 season though that Notre Dame wasn’t just better on special teams than their foes, but significantly better across the board.
I know Jonathan Doerer missed a field goal early in the second half but a blocked punt, nearly a second blocked punt and watching Stanford’s miscues in trying to field punts was yet another time this year we’ve been able to look and see an advantage instead of conceding yards or worse, possession.
