No. 16 Notre Dame Beats Stanford: 5 Quick Thoughts

The 2019 regular season comes to an end and 10-2 ends up the final record and along with it come some different feelings than we’d probably have expected had most of us been told 10 wins was happening back in August

A few weeks ago we tried to figure out how much Braden Lenzy was going to develop in terms of being a receiver so it was more than just gadget plays that got him the ball.  Today you saw a huge step in the right direction for Lenzy and his future at Notre Dame as despite an early drop, he was used significantly in the passing game.

Even when he wasn’t making plays with the ball in his hands, he was dictating some coverage or at least attention to free up teammates, especially on Chase Claypool’s second touchdown of the afternoon.

His speed is incredibly rare but that alone doesn’t make you a football player. Today was easily his most complete looking game even if he didn’t end up in the end zone for the first time since Virginia Tech (he didn’t dress against Duke, I know).
