No. 16 Notre Dame Beats Stanford: 5 Quick Thoughts

The 2019 regular season comes to an end and 10-2 ends up the final record and along with it come some different feelings than we’d probably have expected had most of us been told 10 wins was happening back in August

I don’t have an answer as to why Notre Dame looked lost defensively to start things on Saturday.  The third most-efficient pass defense in college football looked lost for the better part of four straight possessions while the physicality that was clearly present with a young Stanford offensive line appeared to be entirely MIA for Notre Dame.

But Lea’s group settled down nicely with various players making big-time plays.

They came out of halftime and forced three straight three-and-outs and only a very late touchdown when the game had been decided.

I don’t know if Missouri is going to be interested in hiring a defensive coordinator without head coaching experience for their suddenly open head coaching spot but for a man as good as Lea has been and with Lea’s SEC ties (Vanderbilt graduate) it’d be worth looking into if I’m Mizzou.
