No. 12 Oklahoma vs. No. 4 Texas: Red River Rivalry Sooners Wire Staff Predictions

Who wins the 119th meeting of the Red River Rivalry? Sooners Wire Staff logs their predictions for this top-12 matchup between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns.

Texas is the favorite going into this game, and many people aren’t giving Oklahoma much of a shot.

The Sooners can win this game.

Texas isn’t as unbeatable as many national people make it seem. Texas can be had in the secondary. It has struggled defending the deep ball. Texas’ offensive line is very good but can be confused with blitzes. Quinn Ewers is far from the perfect quarterback; he has struggled with pressure.

All in all, this is a game Oklahoma can win. The issue is, until we see Sooners do it, it’s hard to pick them.

I think Oklahoma’s struggles in the running game and poor punting will cost them this game in the long run. But I expect a rematch down the road to go a little differently.

Longhorns 38, Sooners 27
