No. 10 Washington men’s golf team earns No. 2 seed in NCAA Regional

The Washington Huskies men’s golf team has had a stellar season on the golf course.

It has been an exciting week for the No. 10 Washington Huskies men’s golf team, which is headed to the NCAA Regionals for the fourth consecutive year, this time as the No. 2 seed. The Huskies also made school history, with four players earning All-Pac-12 honors for the first time.

Senior Petr Hruby was honored for the third consecutive year, finding his name on the All-Pac-12 first team for the first time in his career.

The Pilsen, Czech Republic, native was also nominated for both the Ben Hogan Award and the Fred Haskins Award, and is the first Husky to make the All-Pac-12 first team since 2022. He won the Genesis Collegiate Showcase in February and finished No. 8 in the Pac-12 Championship in April at the Desert Forest Golf Club in Carefree, Arizona.

Taehoon Song, the Husky Invitational champion, earned an All-Pac-12 second team honors in his last year at Washington. He also came in second at the Southwestern Invitational in Westlake Village, California in January.

Senior Teddy Lin earned an All-Pac-12 honorable mention for the season after being named to the All-Pac-12 second team in 2022. A native of New Taipei City, Taiwan, Lin was Washington’s top finisher at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate tournament, finishing tied for No. 8 after shooting under par in all three rounds.

Finn Koelle, a freshman from Sulzfeld, Germany, peformed at a high level all season and was named to the All-Pac-12 Freshman Team after three top-10 finishes this year. He also owns the Huskies’ lowest 54-hole score of the season after shooting -18 at the Amer Ari in February.

The Huskies will hit the greens on May 13- 5 for the Regional Tournament at the Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
