No. 1 Tennessee clinches share of SEC regular season title.

No. 1 Tennessee overcame an early deficit to capture a 9-2 victory over No. 22 Georgia Friday.

The Volunteers (45-6, 22-4 SEC) fell behind, 1-0, and was held at bay until the fourth inning.

Tennessee scored three runs in the fourth inning against the Bulldogs (32-17, 13-13 SEC).

Jorel Ortega tied the game in the frame with an RBI double and Evan Russell gave the Vols the lead with a two-run home run.

Georgia pulled to within 3-2 when Corey Collins drew a walk with the bases loaded in the fifth inning. The Vols answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame as Luc Lipcius had a home run and Ortega came up with an RBI single. Cortland Lawson drove in the final run of the inning when he walked with the bases loaded.

Ortega, who went 3-for-5 with a double, a run and three RBIs, had a scoring single and Jordan Beck came home on a wild pitch in the sixth inning.

Evan Russell went 2-for-4 with three runs and two home runs.

Blade Tidwell started on the mound for the Vols. He pitched four innings and yielded one run, four hits and three walks. Tidwell had six strikeouts.

Camden Sewell recorded the win in relief as he pitched three innings. He allowed one run, three hits and one walk, while recording two strikeouts.

Mark McLaughlin and Kirby Connell each pitched a scoreless inning of relief against the Bulldogs.
