After landing three-star cornerback [autotag]Aiden Anding[/autotag] earlier on Saturday, [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] and the LSU Tigers lost out on the No. 1 safety in the 2025 recruiting class.
[autotag]Jonah Williams[/autotag] is a 6-foot-3, 203-pound, five-star safety from Galveston, Texas, where he plays for Ball High School. Williams is ranked as the No. 1 safety in the nation by On3, 247Sports, and ESPN. Rivals has him ranked as the No. 2 safety in the class.
Going into his commitment announcement, the Texas Longhorns were a 75% favorite to land him per On3 and the Oregon Ducks were a 22% favorite to land him. There were four different crystal ball projections for him. Two of those were for LSU, one was for Oklahoma, and one was for Texas A&M.

Ultimately, Williams chose the Texas Longhorns. Now he will get to suit up against LSU in SEC play. Although he has committed to Texas, his recruitment is not over until he signs his name on the dotted line on National Signing Day.
