No. 1 player in England Emmanuel Okoye commits to Tennessee

Emmanuel Okoye announced his commitment to Tennessee football. Okoye is the No. 1 player in England.

Four-star edge prospect Emmanuel Okoye announced his commitment to Tennessee on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound edge prospect attends the NFL Academy in London, England. He has a 45.5-inch vertical with a 72-inch wingspan.

Okoye ranks as the No. 29 edge prospect and No. 1 player from England in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports.

He initially was a 2024 prospect, but reclassified and will be eligible to enroll immediately at Tennessee. Okoye could continue to develop as an edge rusher or switch positions, including tight end, at the collegiate level.

Okoye is the 26th commitment in the class of 2023 for the Vols.

Following Okoye’s commitment, Tennessee’s 2023 class ranks No. 12 nationally and fourth in the Southeastern Conference.
