Nintendo Switch has been the best-selling console 35 out of the last 36 months

On-the-go domination.

The Nintendo Switch was the highest selling console in November, continuing its sales domination in the US.

According to the NPD Group, the Switch sold roughly 1.13 million units in November. Shockingly, last month was also the 35th time in the past 36 months that Nintendo’s console came out as top dog in sales. That’s nearly a three-year-long winning streak despite ongoing manufacturing issues due to global semiconductor shortages.

Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser (yes, that’s his actual last name) spoke about the Switch’s success.

“With a wide-ranging library of games and three options to choose from between Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite and Nintendo Switch – OLED Model, the Nintendo Switch family of systems offers something for everyone this holiday season,” Bowser said. “As we head into 2022 and the sixth year of Nintendo Switch, the system continues to see strong demand. We look forward to even more people adding Nintendo Switch to their households!”

Nintendo isn’t the only gaming company that has been suffering from manufacturing woes lately. Sony is making fewer PS5 consoles this holiday season for the same reasons. Similarly, due to production issues, Valve had to delay its highly-anticipated mobile gaming PC, the Steam Deck, until next year.
