Nine SoFi Stadium workers have now tested positive for COVID-19

A ninth worker on the site of SoFi Stadium has tested positive for the coronavirus but has minor symptoms.

Construction on SoFi Stadium in Inglewood has continued throughout the coronavirus pandemic and the building remains on track to open in time for the preseason in August. However, there have now been nine workers on the construction site who have tested positive for COVID-19.

The latest report comes from the Los Angeles Times, which is reporting that the worker was last on the site on May 28 before testing positive for the coronavirus. He has minor symptoms and is recovering at home.

As a result of the worker’s positive test, other members of the same crew have been tested as a precaution to ensure that the virus does not spread even more throughout the construction site.

The Rams are scheduled to open SoFi Stadium on Aug. 14 for a preseason game against the New Orleans Saints – the first scheduled event on the stadium’s calendar. Three summer concerts prior to the preseason have been postponed due to the coronavirus.
