Nikola Vucevic ‘would love to’ return to the Orlando Magic

Vucevic, who played nine seasons in Orlando, is an unrestricted free agent this summer.

The Chicago Bulls have been one of the more fascinating teams to watch so far this season.

Currently sitting as the No. 10 seed with a 19-22 record, the Bulls have been as inconsistent as it gets during the 2022-23 campaign but are playing their best basketball of the season as of late.

Chicago’s hot streak has slowed down the speculation that the front office would be eager to blow up the roster at the trade deadline next month, including trading Nikola Vucevic and his expiring contract.

Vucevic, who is an unrestricted free agent this coming summer, recently hopped on ‘The Sixth Man Show’ podcast and discussed the possibility if he’d ever return to the Orlando Magic, where he’s spent nine of his 12 years in the NBA.

“Of course, yeah,” Vucevic said when asked if he’d consider a return to Orlando. “That’s something that I would love to do. We’ll see when that is possible, if that’s realistic and how it all works out. If anything, at least get one last year in Orlando. I think it’s only right it happens. So, we’ll see.”

For the Magic, not sure Vooch would fit the current timeline of their roster with the youth movement of Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Bol Bol, and Wendell Carter Jr. in the front court. But, the remainder of this month, and this season, will help decipher where Vucevic will be playing in 2023-24.

Check out the full clip below.

In nine seasons in Orlando, Vucevic averaged 17.6 points, 10,8 rebounds, and 2,8 assists per game while leading the Magic to the playoffs in 2018-2020.
