The Chicago Bulls got their best win of the season on Monday, Nov. 6, with a 130-113 win over the Utah Jazz. Chicago has struggled out of the gates but has slowly been trending in the right direction. The Bulls offense currently sits 19th in the NBA, and their defense is 23rd. Still, there have been some encouraging signs.
However, Chicago’s win over Utah has done much to convince Nikola Vucevic that the team’s fortunes are about to change. During an interview with Joe Cowley of the Chicago-Sun Times, the veteran big man revealed how he’s remaining realistic and wasn’t to see further progress before he believes the Bulls have turned a corner and are capable of being competitive moving forward.
‘‘We definitely put a good 48 minutes together,‘’ Vucevic said. ‘’We knew coming out of that Denver game, especially the second half, we needed to come out and play much better. This was a good response. Hopefully, we learn from it and realize playing like this is our best chance. I’m not a believer in just one game changes everything, but it can be a good steppingstone for us to understand. Now it has to be game after game after game.’” – gonna grab this from Vuc.
Chicago will be back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 8, when they face the Phoenix Suns in what will be a litmus test for the progress the Bulls are making. Fortunately for the Bulls, Phoenix will be without Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal is listed as questionable. As such, Chicago could potentially add another win to their tally and move within one game of pulling their record back to .500.
