The Chicago Bulls welcomed the Boston Celtics to town on Thursday night. Boston is the best team in the league by a wide margin, and while the Bulls were in the game by the time the first half came to a close, the Celtics pulled away in the third quarter. In the end, it was a 129-112 victory for the Celtics, who extended their lead atop the Eastern Conference.
Nikola Vucevic was the primary reason the Bulls were in the game, as he was killing the Celtics in the second quarter. Unfortunately, Boston made the right adjustments and was able to shut him down throughout the second half.
After the game, Vucevic had some high praise for the league-leading Celtics. (H/t Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune)
“They’re a really good team, probably the best team in the NBA,” Vucevic said. “I still felt there were things we could have done better tonight, especially in the second half to give us a better chance.”
Vucevid ended the night with 22 points, 14 rebounds, and two assists while shooting 10-of-19 from the field.
