Nike brings Deion Sanders back on board

Coach Prime is back with the Nike brand. Could we see an updated version of his signature Air Diamond Turfs in black and gold?

In December, we speculated that there was a decision on the horizon for Colorado Buffaloes football head coach Deion Sanders: Nike or Under Armour? That question was answered this weekend. As reported by Brent Schrotenboer of USA TODAY Sports, Sanders is once again a Nike man.

“We welcome Deion Sanders back to the Nike family,” the company said in a statement.

Sanders wore Nike throughout his professional playing career but the relationship soured for a multitude of reasons after he hung up his cleats. That led Sanders to form a lucrative partnership with Under Armour in 2009 and he carried that through his coaching days at Jackson State.

Once Sanders arrived in Boulder, there would have to be some give and take as Colorado had been a part of the Nike brand since 1995.

The fires started burning on Friday as Sanders shared a picture of himself showing off his Nike Air Diamond Turfs.
