CINCINNATI — In his return to the lineup, Cincinnati Reds’ center fielder Nick Senzel had quite an impact for his team.
Senzel had a 10th-inning single and scored the winning run as the Reds edged the Kansas City Royals, 6-5, Tuesday night at Great American Ball Park.
He went 1-for-5, batting in the leadoff spot for the second time this season, but singled in the extra frame. Senzel came home with the game winner when Joey Votto doubled.
Senzel left Friday night’s game in Milwaukee with groin stiffness in the fourth inning and sat out the rest of the weekend.
The former All-State standout from Farragut High School and one-time University of Tennessee star is batting .229 with one home run, four RBIs and a stolen base.
