CINCINNATI — Nick Senzel had perhaps his best night of the season Thursday.
Senzel, the Cincinnati Reds center fielder, went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, and a double in Cincinnati’s 9-6 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates at Great American Ball Park.
He drove in a season-high four runs and scored another as he added 51 points to his batting average, but it wasn’t enough to help the Reds (8-11) find their way in to the win column as they surrendered seven runs to the Pirates (4-13) in the top of the second inning.
Senzel, a No. 2 overall pick by the Reds, out of the University of Tennessee, in 2016, is now batting .262.
In high school, he was an All-State standout at Farragut High School.
