Cincinnati defeated Washington, 8-4, Tuesday at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
The game was part of the Nationals’ Patriotic Series.
Former Vol Nick Senzel went 1-for-5 in the contest. He recorded one home run, three RBIs and one run for the Reds.
Senzel played at Tennessee from 2014-16 and was an All-Southeastern Conference student-athlete and All-American.
He was selected by Cincinnati in the first round of the 2016 MLB draft with the No. 2 overall selection. Senzel came to the Vols from Farragut High School in Farragut, Tennessee.
The Reds will next play Washington on Wednesday. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. EDT at Nationals Park.
