Cincinnati defeated Washington, 5-4 in 10 innings, Thursday at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
Former Vol Nick Senzel started in center field for the Reds. He went 2-for-4 and hit a two-run home run. Senzel also played right field and third base in the contest.
Senzel played for Tennessee from 2014-16, earning All-Southeastern Conference and All-America honors.
He was selected by the Reds in the first-round of the 2016 MLB draft (No. 2 overall). Senzel came to the Vols from Farragut High School in Farragut, Tennessee.
Cincinnati opens a three-game series at Milwaukee Friday. First pitch between the Reds and Brewers is slated for 8:10 p.m. EDT at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
