[autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] may not be on the Alabama sideline this year, but his presence will in the sport will still be felt. Saban is joining ESPN’s College GameDay as an analyst. With Week 0 getting underway on Saturday, GameDay made its 2024 debut.
Saban and crew made their annual playoff predictions and the former Crimson Tide coach had LSU making the tournament.
“LSU always has skill guys. They’re talking about all the receivers they lost. You could shake a tree in Louisiana and them guys would fall out,” Saban said.
Saban slotted the Tigers as the No. 11 seed. He doesn’t think they’ll win the SEC, but he says they’ll do enough to get in as an at-large bid. Unfortunately for Tigers fans, that seed isn’t high enough to secure a home playoff game for LSU.
Saban also spoke highly of LSU QB [autotag]Garrett Nussmeier[/autotag], saying he’s flying under the radar but expects a big year.
Nick Saban has LSU as the No. 11 seed in his CFP bracket. He reiterated his belief in Garrett Nussmeier and added:
"LSU always has skill guys. They're talking about all the receivers they lost — you could shake a tree in Louisiana and them guys would fall out."

Saban’s prediction means something given his familiarity with the roster. Saban had to prepare for LSU every year as a coach. He knows what this group is capable of.
LSU’s path to the playoff is there. The Tigers’ two toughest games are at home with Ole Miss and Alabama coming to Tiger Stadium and LSU misses some of the SEC’s best, including Texas and Georgia.
