[autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and Jimbo Fisher headlined this college football offseason with their public dispute regarding name, image, likeness (NIL) and its impact on college football. The feud included a member of the NFL Hall of Fame, and Jackson State head coach, Deion Sanders.
Sanders and his Tigers landed the top overall recruit in the 2022 cycle in cornerback Travis Hunter, to which Saban said, “Read about it in the paper, I mean Jackson State paid a guy a million dollars last year that was a really good player to come to their school.”
As a result of the comments, Sanders defended Jackson State and their integrity. He said he still respects Coach Saban and doesn’t blame him for the comments he made.
