CAMDEN, N.J. — The Philadelphia 76ers returned to practice on Sunday as they look to bounce back from a loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday. The Sixers trailed that game by as many as 30 and never led.
The Sixers were, obviously, undermanned in the matchup. Philadelphia was missing Joel Embiid due to the meniscus injury in his left knee, Tobias Harris due to an illness, De’Anthony Melton due to lumbar spine stress response and Nic Batum due to left hamstring tightness.
Robert Covington remains out due to a bone bruise in his left knee.
While Embiid remains out, the Sixers could have Melton, Harris and Batum return soon.
“De’Anthony did have an on-court workout today so he’s progressing,” said Nurse on Sunday. “Nico went through parts of practice today, so he’s progressing. Tobias was not here today. Cov’s out. Not much light at the end of that tunnel.”

Without Melton, the Sixers are missing their best perimeter defender. With Embiid out, they need Melton to return soon and give Philadelphia a boost. The same thought applies to Batum.
As for Harris, the Sixers need his scoring. If he can’t go against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, then Philadelphia will need others to step up and produce on the offensive end.
