Nic Claxton undergoes successful shoulder surgery, won’t join Nets at Disney

Nic Claxton underwent successful arthroscopic on his left shoulder and will not be available for the Brooklyn Nets at Disney.

The Brooklyn Nets are down another player.

Like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, Nic Claxton will not be available for Brooklyn when the NBA resumes the 2019-20 season at Disney World in Orlando. The Nets announced the rookie big man underwent arthroscopic labrum repair surgery on his left shoulder on Wednesday.

Claxton’s surgery was deemed a success. The team expects he will make a full recovery in time for next season’s training camp.

The 31st overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft appeared in 15 games for Brooklyn this year and nine for the franchise’s G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets.

At the NBA level, Claxton averaged 4.4 points on 56.3% shooting, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game, while playing 12.5 minutes per appearance. For Long Island, he shot 65.9% from the floor, averaging 16.7 points per game. He also grabbed 7.3 boards, dished out 1.8 assists and blocked 1.2 shots per game while averaging 21.3 minutes a night.
