Nic Claxton peacefully protesting: ‘I’m extremely moved by this movement’

Brooklyn Nets rookie Nic Claxton doesn’t want NBA fans to forget about the movement sweeping the nation when games resume in July.

Like his Brooklyn Nets teammates Kyrie Irving and Caris LeVert, rookie big man Nic Claxton has taken part in the peaceful protests sweeping the nation in response to George Floyd’s death.

On Thursday, Claxton shared an image on Instagram from a protest he’s attended, with a message for all basketball fans as the return of play draws near:

My Brothers & Sisters. As I sit back & soak everything in that has been transpiring since the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbrey, Breonna Taylor, amongst many others. I’m extremely moved by this movement. Change needs to come & fast. This has been an ongoing issue. Let’s come together & be the Change. If the NBA season restarts let’s not let this take the focus off of the police brutality & systematic racism that’s deeply embedded in America.

Peace & Love to All
