Nic Claxton added to Nets injury report, probable against Heat

Brooklyn Nets rookie Nick Claxton is dealing with some hamstring soreness ahead of Sunday’s matchup with the Miami Heat.

Nic Claxton did not appear in the second game of the home-and-home series against the Boston Celtics — which the Nets won — and could be a scratch for Sunday’s game with the Miami Heat. The Brooklyn Nets rookie has been listed as probable by the team due to left hamstring soreness.

With DeAndre Jordan healthy again after he missed Brooklyn’s games in Cleveland and Boston due to left ankle soreness and Jarrett Allen rolling, Kenny Atkinson may feel less inclined to call Claxton’s number due to the general nagging nature of hamstring injuries, even if his is minor.

Kyrie Irving (out, right shoulder impingement) did not participate in practice on Saturday because the Nets essentially held a walkthrough, according to Alex Schiffer of The Athletic.

Rodions Kurucs won’t be available for the Nets on Sunday either, though not because of injury. He will be on assignment with the Long Island Nets in the G League.
