NFL.com lists Buccaneers as one of the ‘perfect fits’ for Utah State QB Jordan Love

See why Bucky Brooks of NFL.com thinks the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be a perfect landing spot for Utah State QB Jordan Love.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, like the rest of the NFL, will descend on Indianapolis this weekend as the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine prepares to get underway.

There are a few key prospects the Bucs should be keeping their eye on, including Iowa OT Tristan Wirfs, but don’t forget about some of the quarterbacks who will be taking the field in Indy, too.

Tampa Bay has yet to resolve their QB situation in regards to Jameis Winston, and it could be that the team is not only waiting to see what’s available in free agency, but also in the draft. The Bucs could very easily fall in love with a quarterback at the combine, and according to NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks, the Bucs are one of the teams that would be a perfect fit for Utah State QB Jordan Love.

Per Brooks:

“Bruce Arians is a bombs-away proponent with a scheme and team that could help Love maximize his talents as a gunslinger. Love would be encouraged to push the ball down the field to a talented group of pass catchers possessing size, speed and immense playmaking ability. With Mike Evans and Chris Godwin emerging as the NFL’s most explosive 1-2 punch at wide receiver, Love could quickly regain the form that made scouts salivate over his potential in 2018.”

In Brooks’ piece, he talks a bit about some of the comparisons being drawn between Love and Patrick Mahomes, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. The fact is, the Bucs hold the 14th pick in the draft, and Love could very well be available at that spot. If Tampa Bay sees something they like at the combine, he could be a player to watch come April.

Still, why draft a quarterback when you have glaring needs along the offensive line? Putting a rookie QB on the field will do no good if you can’t protect him.
